Learning skills that will be carried for a lifetime
If you are a parent or care for vulnerable people, or if you are an agency managing a personal budget on behalf of a vulnerable person, Mount Pleasant Care Farm can provide a safe and nurturing environment, creating opportunities for people to work with a small, hand-picked selection of livestock, dogs and other small animals. We also offer horticultural activities, arts & crafts and there are opportunities to learn about farm and machinery maintenance. Attending Mount Pleasant Farm can either be a one-off visit, or can involve permanent or semi-permanent placements.

Care farming has proven to be of tremendous benefit to the home-life of children with special educational needs. By creating a controlled environment where children can experience true responsibility, care farming encourages empathy and promotes independence through caring for animals. Working with other visitors and staff, children can also develop their verbal and social interaction skills, coming together to cultivate the land and safely playing with the different animals on the farm.
We pride ourselves on the fun and nurturing environment we’ve created as it really can bring out the best in people and incites an interest in learning about and caring for the environment.
If you have any enquiries and want to ensure your child will get the most out of their day, do not hesitate to contact us via our contact us page.
